Wenyen Gabriel Earns 10-Day Contract with Memphis Grizzles

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Memphis Grizzles have signed Wisconsin Herd forward Wenyen Gabriel to a 10-day contract. This is the third NBA Call-Up for the Herd this season.

Gabriel has appeared in 40 games (40 starts) for the Herd this season averaging 14.9 points (51.6 FG%, 38.8 3P%, 63.6 FT%), 9.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.6 blocks in 31.3 minutes per game while also recording 17 games with double-double figures. The 26-year-old started with the Herd in the 2021-22 season and earned three NBA call-ups before signing the rest of the season under a Two-Way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. Gabriel returned to the Lakers for the 2022-23 season under a standard contract and appeared in 68 games averaging 5.5 points and 4.2 rebounds in 15.1 minutes per game. Over his career, Gabriel has spent time with the Sacramento Kings (2019-20), Portland Trail Blazers (2019-20), New Orleans Pelicans (2020-21), Brooklyn Nets (2021-22), Los Angeles Clippers (2021-22), and the Los Angeles Lakers (2021-22, 2022-23).
