Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX - The Salt Lake City Stars (12-13) took a wire-to-wire victory over the Texas Legends (14-12) 127-116.
The Stars grabbed the first eight points of the game before Texas made it on the board. A 12-point edge at the buzzer became the largest lead of the night (+19) midway through the second, and the home team carried a 74-57 lead into halftime.
Texas hit a 13-2 run early in the third to cut the lead to seven and maintained a single-digit difference heading into the fourth. With 3:40 left in the game, a three-point play from Olivier-Maxence Prosper brought Texas back within six, but the Stars' hot shooting earned the victory.
Theo Pinson led the Legends with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists, and 2 blocks. Justin Jackson added 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists and Tyler Hall tagged on 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Greg Brown III finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocks, and Prosper completed the double figures with 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Isaiah Thomas led the Stars with 32 points, including 13 from the charity stripe, and 4 assists in his debut with the team. Jason Preston grabbed his seventh triple-double of the season with 20 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists and Micah Potter finished with 23 points and a game-high 17 rebounds.
The Legends head to Portland next for a two-game series against the Rip City Remix Sunday at 5pm CT and Tuesday at 8pm CT. Both games will air live on the UEN app and urbanedge.network.
