Affiliation Connection

The departures of Kent Simpson, Keith Seabrook and, most recently, Loic Leduc to the AHL has left the Thunder with its smallest amount of New York Islanders and/or Bridgeport Sound Tigers signees this season. Only Alex Mallet (NYI), Adam Phillips (BRD) and Mike Pereira (BRD) remain in Stockton as players signed by the two parent clubs. Last season, the Thunder saw 19 different players contracted by Bridgeport or New York spend time in Stockton throughout the season. Those players combined for a total of 375 man games played during the regular season.

In 2014-15, only 11 different Sound Tigers or Islanders players have joined the Thunder, combining for a total of 304 man games played. Those numbers do not include Austin Levi, who is a Carolina Hurricanes prospect. Of those 11 players, only seven have spent a significant amount of time with the Thunder, as four of them have played less than 15 games in a Thunder sweater.

Approaching the Record

Garet Hunt continues to climb up the all-time Thunder leaderboard behind Mike Lalonde's all-time points and goals record.

Hunt's season goal total is now up to 10 and his points total is up to 17.

The Thunder captain is now just 1 point away from tying Lalonde's all-time Thunder points record of 156 and 11 goals away from tying Lalonde's Thunder goals.

Making a Debut

Despite allowing 6 goals (which really should have been 5 after television replays showed Idaho's fourth goal should have been disallowed), Lucas Gore impressed in his first ever pro game against the Steelheads on Saturday.

Gore stopped 33 shots and kept his team in it. His biggest save came after Alex Belzile's first period penalty ended and he was sprung on a breakaway. Gore stacked the pads to make the save.
