Weekend Preview: Caps Hit Road to Chicago for Saturday-Sunday Series
March 3, 2023 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Madison Capitols News Release
Madison hits the road to Chicago this weekend to face off against the Steel. These will be the two of the last three matchups between the teams this season. They have matched up seven times prior this season with Madison running a 2-4-0-1 against the Steel. However, Madison's is an undefeated 2-0-0-0 on the road versus Chicago this season.
The most recent series between the two sides had new faces in new places on both sides. The Capitols acquired Jack Brandt from Chicago on the Friday of the home-and-home series in exchange for Quinn Finley. Brandt was unable to play in his first game with Madison due to illness, but helped the Caps find the win on the road the next night. In the process of all of that, he was able to find his first USHL goal.
Madison comes into the weekend series after dropping an overtime thriller on Saturday to the Dubuque Fighting Saints. On the season, the Capitols hold a 11-30-2-1 record. An overtime loss to Dubuque is the same result of Chicago's last game on Tuesday night. The Steel will be without Leo Eperjesi on Saturday night as he serves a one game suspension.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm on Saturday night and 3:05 pm on Sunday afternoon for the two-game series. Coverage can be found on FloHockey and on the Capitols social media pages.
