Mississauga Steelheads News Release

MISSISSAUGA, ON - Following a 0-1-1-0 start to the season, the Steelheads are coming off of two big wins this past weekend. With a 6-1 win against the Erie Otters and a 4-1 win against the Kingston Frontenacs, the Steelheads are looking to stay hot this week.

The Steelheads visit the Barrie Colts on Thursday and are back at home on Friday for their second standoff with the Niagara Ice Dogs, as they hope to have a strong showing in their first back-to-back of the season. The Steelheads look to the likes of Keean Washkurak, who had 3 points in 2 games last week, and Jacob Ingham, coming off of 2 stellar performances, to help drive the team to 4 straight wins.

The Barrie Colts are also off to a 2-1-1-0 start to the season. With an impressive offense, the Colts have scored 23 goals in 4 games. Facing off 6 times in the 2017-2018 season, the Steelheads beat the Colts 4-2 in the season series and look to continue that trend this year.

Winning 8-6 against the Steelheads in their home opener, the Niagara Ice Dogs sit atop the Central division with a 3-1-0-0 record. The Steelheads are looking to even the season series out at 1 a piece and take ahold of the number 1 spot. Secure your seats
