D.C. United News Release
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Convention and Sports Authority (WCSA) announced today that the repaving of RFK Stadium Parking Lot 8 is complete and all stadium parking lots and the Access Road are fully accessible. RFK Stadium Parking Lot 8 was damaged during the blizzards this winter.
"We are very pleased that this project was completed on schedule so patrons to all RFK Stadium events have full access to all parking lots," said Erik A. Moses, managing director of the WCSA's Sports, Entertainment and Special Events Division. "The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and the Department of Public Works (DPW) were tremendous in getting the job done in response to the unprecedented snowfall this winter. We appreciate the patience and understanding of D.C. United and their fans as we worked diligently to restore the parking lot."
RFK Stadium is set to host D.C. United and A.C. Milan in an international exhibition match Wednesday at 8 p.m. Good seats remain available via www.dcunited.com and at all Ticketmaster outlets.
On Tuesday, both teams' training sessions will be open to the public. The practices are free of charge for all United full season ticket holders via their 2010 membership cards, while United half season and flex plan holders can purchase tickets for both sessions for $10 in advance or $20 at the gate. General public tickets for both sessions are $20 in advance or at the gate. To purchase tickets for both days, please visit www.dcunited.com.
Among the players expected to play for A.C. Milan are Brazilian stars Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato and Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf. A.C. Milan has won 18 officially recognized UEFA and FIFA international titles, making them one of the most successful soccer teams in the world.
RFK Stadium has hosted many world-class soccer events in its history including the World Cup, Women's World Cup, Olympic soccer, Gold Cups, international friendlies and qualifying matches.
