
Rapids Announce 2010 Official Youth Soccer Tournament Series

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Monday, May 24, 2010) - The Colorado Rapids today announced the lineup of the "2010 Rapids Official Youth Soccer Tournament Series", which will be held at Dick's Sporting Goods Park from spring to fall in collaboration with three Colorado Youth Soccer clubs.
The "2010 Rapids Official Youth Soccer Tournament Series" will include: the Real Colorado Cup & Colorado Showcase (May 29-31); the Colorado Rush Denver Cup & Rush Open (August 5-8); and, the Trebol Soccer Club's Tiger Natural Gas Colorado Shootout (October 1-3).
"The Rapids Official Youth Soccer Tournament Series is a great way for our club to highlight the close relationship that exists between the Colorado Rapids and our state's youth soccer players and organizations," said Rapids Managing Director Jeff Plush. "We are proud to announce this series of tournaments for 2010, which include some of the biggest and most established youth soccer events in the nation."
By joining the "Rapids Official Youth Soccer Tournament Series", participating tournaments are entitled to stage their entire tournament on the stadium's 24-field complex, reserving the complex for entire weekends. Each partner tournament also will receive marketing exposure from the Rapids as well as an experienced event staff at Dick's Sporting Goods Park to manage their tournament. Additionally, every participating youth soccer team in each tournament receives free tickets to a Colorado Rapids home game as part of their tournament entry fee.

The Real Colorado Cup & Colorado Showcase tournaments, both organized by the Real Colorado soccer club, will be taking place at the Dick's Sporting Goods Park complex for the fourth year in a row. Over 400 boys and girls teams, U10 through U18, from all over the country will have the opportunity to play throughout the Memorial Day weekend. The Colorado Rush's Denver Cup & Rush Open this year will include over 225 teams and will take place from August 5-8. This annual tournament has quickly become one of the premier tournaments in Colorado for boys and girls teams alike. For details and registration information, visit www.ColoradoRush.com.
The 2010 Rapids Tournament Series concludes with the Trebol Soccer Club's 4th Annual Tiger Natural Gas Colorado Shootout, taking place from October 1-3. This competitive tournament for boys (U11 - U14) and girls (U11 - U18) offers teams the unique chance to play under the lights on Colorado's biggest fields complex.
