Chicago Fire FC News Release
CHICAGO, IL (May 24, 2009) - The Chicago Fire is participating in a series of community events across the Chicagoland area over this week. Throughout the year, the Fire participate in hundreds of community events to work with youth, charities and other organizations to promote the game of soccer by advocating wellness, healthy lifestyle choices, physical activities and education.
This week's events feature Chicago Fire players Andrew Dykstra, Baggio Husidic, Peter Lowry, Patrick Nyarko and Calen Carr for the Chicago Fire "Pizza Friendly" on Tuesday, May 25 at Piece, where the players will make and serve fans the specialty Il Fuoco pizza - a unique Fire spin on Piece's classic New Haven-style thin crust pizza made exclusively in honor of the Fire's upcoming match vs. AC Milan. In addition, Fire midfielder Baggio Husidic will make an appearance at Northwood Junior High School for Fire Soccer Discovery Day on Friday, May 28. Last but not least, Fire mascot Sparky will appear at the Grove United "Soccer Madness" Memorial Day Shootout on Saturday, May 29 at Olympic Park.
