Washington Wild Things News Release
Washington, PA -The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, announced Friday that Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell along with West Virginia Governor Joseph Manchin and Pennsylvania State Representative Victor Lescovitz will be in attendance at the Washington Wild Things game Monday, August 29. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
"We're delighted to have the governors join us for some great entertainment and some record setting baseball," said John Swiatek, managing partner of the Wild Things. "Vic Lescovitz is one of our season ticket holders, so he knows how much fun Wild Things' games are, but this will be the first time either of the governors has attended one of our games. We'll show them a good time!"
State Representative Victor Lescovitz invited the governors to join him at Falconi Field in Washington, Pa for an informal reception and a baseball game.
The Washington Wild Things, an independent minor league baseball team, is marching towards another East Division title this season. The Wild Things, who were founded in 2002, have advanced to the Frontier League playoffs each year of their existence. No Frontier League team has ever achieved that feat. The team clinched a playoff berth two days ago and hopes to win the East Division title sometime this week.
The game will be broadcast on FSN Pittsburgh Monday evening, and it will be carried on the Wild Things' Radio Network with flagship WJPA 95.3 FM. Air time is 6:55 p.m.
