Washington Wild Things News Release

Washington, PA – The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, will reunite Stan Savran and Guy Junker this Saturday (July 5) when Stan ‘N Guy will host the Wild Things' broadcast on Fox Sports Net. The game is scheduled to air at 3:35 p.m. as the Wild Things play host to the Chillicothe Paints.

"It's great to get back together with Guy," joked Stan Savran. "You know I've spent more time with him than I have with my wife during the past 12 years!"

Stan Savran regularly handles the play by play on the Wild Things' telecasts and is normally joined by Mike Berger, a Colorado Rockies' scout for color commentary. But this week Guy Junker will sit in for Berger and join Stan for the game.

"I'm a relative newcomer to the Pittsburgh market," said Ross Vecchio, general manager of the Washington Wild Things. "When I moved here, I immediately became aware of the chemistry between the two. We're delighted to reunite them on our broadcast. They're Pittsburgh sports, and they make absolute sense for our broadcast."

"I've talked to Stan about every other day since I left Fox," said Guy Junker. "This will give us a chance to work together again. After I was let go, I wondered if Stan and I would ever work together on TV again. You know, we're friends. I'm honestly looking forward to being back together with Stan again as much as I'm looking forward to doing the game. This will be one less ‘conference call' for us."

The Washington Wild Things/Chillicothe Paints' Saturday broadcast begins at 3:35 p.m. on Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh. Fans are invited to "watch and win" as a variety of prizes will be awarded during the game, featuring an official patriotic "Stars & Stripes" jersey and cap to a lucky winner during the eighth inning. The Wild Things are sporting a patriotic red, white, and blue look for the three games series with Chillicothe.
