River City Rascals News Release

Despite leading by three runs twice in the game, the Rascals weren't able to hold on to defeat the Kenosha Mammoths. Kenosha scored five 7th inning runs off of losing pitcher Brian Morgan (1-2) to beat River City 9-7.

River City took a 3-0 lead after two innings, but Kenosha would tie it in the 3rd with three runs of their own. The Rascals again took a 3-run lead later in the game, but Kenosha's attack was too much.

Former Rascal outfielder Steve Haake would lead the Mammoths with 4 hits and 2 RBI. Todd Leathers would get three hits of his own, including his 6th homer of the season, a 2-run blast in the 7th inning.

Frank Esposito (1-0) pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief for his 1st win of the season, while Randy Vanderplow received his 4th save.

The Rascals will continue the 2003 SONIC Crosstown Clash on Thursday night at GMC Stadium. Tickets are available for the series by visiting the Grizzlies Website or in person at GMC Stadium.

RASCALS OFFICE CLOSES AT 1PM ON THURSDAY!

The Rascals will close their office on Thursday afternoon and re-open on Tuesday morning at 8:30 am due to the 4th of July holiday and Monday's Charity Golf Tournament at New Melle Lakes Golf Course.
