
Cheetahs Sweep Mavs

Crestwood, IL- The Cook County Cheetahs (17-18) completed a 4-game sweep over the Mid-Missouri Mavericks (15-21) tonight, with a 3-2 win. The Cheetahs got on the board in the first and never looked back. Warren Gaspar, Damon Burkhart, and Kevin Brown scored the only runs of the game for the Cheetahs. Winning pitcher for the Cheetahs was Kris Regas (1-2), as he picked up his first win of the season. Relief pitcher Eric White came in and picked up his first save of the season. Losing pitcher for the Mavericks was Jared Wood, who dropped his record to 2-3.
"It was a good ball game tonight. We were able to complete the sweep, which we wanted to do. Regas did a great job; it was good for him to have a good outing like this one. The bullpen came in a closed the door.. We were able to break out early, which was good. The guys did a good job of situational hitting. We have three games against the RiverHawks, and we will try to do the same thing to them as we did to the Mavericks," said Cheetahs Manager Mike Moore.
The Cheetahs have now won four consecutive games, and will look to keep the streak going against the RiverHawks. Rockford visits Crestwood for a 3-game series beginning Thursday.
