Washington Spirit Select Tinaya Alexander 14th Overall in the 2022 NWSL Draft

Washington, D.C. - The Washington Spirit have selected LSU forward Tinaya Alexander with the 14th overall pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft. Washington acquired the pick via a trade with San Diego Wave FC.

The fifth-year senior hailing from Reading, England earned First-Team All-SEC honors in 2021 and was named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Year after tallying nine goals and six assists in 20 games played. Alexander assisted on 22 goals in her career with Tigers, tying her for second-most in school history.
