Angel City Football Club Selects Breslin, Nabet, Taylor in the 2022 NWSL Draft

LOS ANGELES - Today, Angel City Football Club (ACFC) drafted three players in the 2022 NWSL Draft presented by Ally, which took place virtually with all 12 NWSL teams. Making picks in the ACFC war room at the team headquarters in Santa Monica, CA, were Sporting Director Eniola Aluko, Head Coach Freya Coombe, team President and Co-Founder Julie Uhrman, Assistant Coach Rob Udberg, Goalkeeper Coach Daniel Ball, and Director of Scouting and Analytics Kim McCauley.

ACFC's 2022 NWSL Draft:

Round Three, Pick 28: Hope Breslin

With the second pick in the third round, 28th overall, ACFC selected Hope Breslin. Breslin played collegiate soccer at the University of Illinois. While there, Breslin was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten (2018, 2019, 2020). Breslin is from Massapequa, NY..

Round Three, Pick 36: Lily Nabet

With the 10th pick in the third round, 36th overall, ACFC selected Lily Nabet. Nabet played her collegiate career at Duke University. At Duke, she finished her career with 55 starts in 86 matches, logging 5,111 minutes. She opted to use an additional year of eligibility granted by the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nabet is from Los Angeles.

Round Four, Pick 39: Miriaél "Miri" Taylor

With the first pick in the fourth round, 36th overall, ACFC selected Miriaél "Miri" Taylor. Taylor played her collegiate career at Hofstra University. At Hofstra, she was named a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist, CAA Attacking Player of the Year, and United Soccer Coaches All-America First Team. Taylor is from Gillingham, England.

ACFC's moves ahead of today's NWSL Draft are as follows:

Thursday, Dec. 16: Houston sent the No. 6 overall pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft to ACFC in exchange for the No. 26 overall pick and $125,000 in allocation money from Angel City

Thursday, Dec. 16: In the 2022 NWSL Expansion Draft, ACFC selected midfielder Dani Weatherholt (OL Reign), forward Claire Emslie (Everton FC, rights from Orlando Pride), forward Jasmyne Spencer (Houston Dash), and defender Paige Nielsen (Washington Spirit)

Friday, Dec. 17: ACFC acquired midfielder Savannah McCaskill through a trade with Racing Louisville. In exchange, Louisville will receive $25,000 in allocation money and the sixth overall pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft presented by Ally. Hence, why ACFC did not pick until Round Three.

Friday, Dec. 17: ACFC obtained goalkeeper Brittany Wilson through a trade with the Orlando Pride. In addition, ACFC will receive the Pride's natural third-round pick in the 2023 NWSL Draft. In exchange, the Orlando Pride has acquired Angel City FC's natural fourth-round pick in the 2023 NWSL Draft.
