
Washington Spirit Championship Celebration to Feature Performance from Grammy Award-Winning Artist Ella Mai

Washington, D.C. - The Washington Spirit will host Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Ella Mai as part of the club's 2021 Championship Celebration Program immediately following its season opener on Sunday, May 1.
Ella Mai is a Grammy Award-winning English singer-songwriter. Perhaps best known for her hit 2018 single "Boo'd Up", Mai has worked with the likes of Meek Mill, Ed Sheeran and Usher among others. For work relating to her self-titled debut album, Mai is the recipient of multiple Billboard and iHeartRadio Music Awards. On Friday, May 6, Ella Mai will release her sophomore album, titled "Heart On My Sleeve".
This special concert was created in collaboration with Events DC and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development as part of the effort to celebrate the 2021 championship team.
"We congratulate the Washington Spirit on their historic season and share in their pride of bringing home a championship to the District," said Ralph Morton, senior vice president and managing director, Sports & Entertainment Division at Events DC. "We are thrilled to have Ella Mai join the Championship Celebration, as well as another year of the Spirit inspiring young people throughout Washington, DC."
The Championship Celebration program will be available to all game day ticket holders. Tickets to the game are required for access to the Championship Celebration. The program will be as follows:

The Washington Spirit will host OL Reign in the team's 2022 season opener on Sunday, May 1 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. As the first regular season game since the 2021 squad won the NWSL championship, Sunday's match will double as a celebration of last year's campaign with Spirit supporters.
