Washington Mystics Announce 2019 Schedule

Washington, D.C. -The Washington Mystics will tip off the 2019 WNBA season, presented by Capital One, on May 25 against the Connecticut Sun. On June 1, the Mystics will welcome fans to their new home, the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Congress Heights, for a rematch of the WNBA Semifinals against the Atlanta Dream at 7:00 p.m.
Led by Head Coach Mike Thibault, Washington is coming off the most successful season in franchise history with a 22-12 regular season record and their first trip to the WNBA Finals.
"With the release of our schedule, we can see that we are already reaping huge dividends from the move to our new home at the Entertainment and Sports Arena," said Thibault. "It is a well-balanced schedule with a lot of weekend dates, a direct result of us having much greater control over dates that benefit our team and fans. Our players are excited about the home court advantage that the atmosphere and size of our new arena will provide. Every seat is a great seat and the availability of easy metro access will make the total Mystics game experience one that fans will thoroughly enjoy as we pursue the WNBA Championship."
The Mystics will be featured in four nationally televised games on ESPN and ESPN2. They are: June 23 at Atlanta (ESPN), June 29 vs. Connecticut (ESPN), Aug. 14 vs. Seattle (ESPN2) and Aug. 27 vs. Los Angeles (ESPN2).
Monumental Sports Network will broadcast all available Mystics games for the 2019 season. Washington will face the Chicago Sky four times this season as part of the balanced regular season format schedule that sees teams play every opponent three times and one conference opponent four times.
The team will return to Capital One Arena to face off against the Phoenix Mercury for a camp day game for local children's camps and groups on July 10 at 11:30 a.m.
Washington's longest homestand will be from Aug. 8 to Aug. 14 when the Indiana Fever (Aug. 8), Minnesota Lynx (Aug. 11) and Seattle Storm (Aug. 14) visit the Entertainment and Sports Arena.
The team will be on the road from June 18 to June 26 for its longest road trip of the season when they play the Los Angeles Sparks (June 18), the Las Vegas Aces (June 20), the Atlanta Dream (June 23) and the Chicago Sky (June 26). All weekday home games (with the exception of camp day on July 10) will tip off at 7:00 p.m. Sunday home games will start at 3:00 p.m. (with the exception of the regular season finale on September 8).
In addition to a brand-new home arena, the Mystics also enter the 2019 season with a state-of-the art practice facility, the Medstar Wizards Performance Center, the official training center of the Mystics, Washington Wizards, and Capital City Go-Go. The practice facility is adjacent to the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Congress Heights, the new 4,200 seat venue that serves as the home court for the Mystics and the Capital City Go-Go.
