Atlanta Dream Unveil 2019 Schedule

ATLANTA - The Atlanta Dream, who will play its home games at State Farm Arena in 2019, will tip off its season against the Dallas Wings on Friday, May 24 beginning at 7:30 p.m. in Atlanta, according to the 2019 WNBA schedule, which was released Tuesday by league officials.

"The schedule release is always exciting for coaches because it feels like we are getting closer to the season," Head Coach Nicki Collen said. "Our schedule is incredibly challenging, with so much talent up and down this league. It will be important for our fans to be ready to go in May to help us get off to a great start."

2019 Atlanta Dream Schedule

Coming off a record-setting season, the Dream are expected to return all of its core pieces from a roster that finished 23-11 and earned the No. 2 seed in the 2018 WNBA Playoffs.

"Obviously, with last season's success in mind, we know no one is going to take us for granted," Collen added. "We will have to be prepared to compete each and every night if we want to duplicate our 2018 results."

The WNBA schedule was reworked in 2016 to create a more balanced look as teams will now play each other a minimum of three times, regardless of conference affiliation. This year, the Dream will play four games against Jasmine Thomas and conference rival the Connecticut Sun.

The 2019 home schedule includes nine games against Western Conference opponents and 11 weekend dates, including a pair of games against Candace Parker and the Los Angeles Sparks (July 14/July 23). The Dream will also host a pair of home games against Lawrenceville, Ga., native Maya Moore and the Minnesota Lynx (July 12/August 6).

The reigning WNBA Champion Seattle Storm and league MVP Breanna Stewart will make their only appearance at State Farm Arena on Friday, May 31.

Some other must-see contests include two games against Rookie of the Year A'ja Wilson and the upstart Las Vegas Aces (July 6/September 5) and a nationally-televised WNBA Semifinals rematch with the Elena Della Donne and the Washington Mystics on June 23 at 1 p.m. on ESPN.

Atlanta has qualified for the playoffs eight times, winning conference titles in 2013, 2011 and 2010.
