Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
Moose Jaw, SK. --- The Moose Jaw Warriors welcomed first round, 10th overall, Bantam Draft pick Carter Hansen to the Warriors organization Saturday morning with a special press conference.
Carter and his family were on hand to receive his very first Moose Jaw Warriors jersey and become acquainted with the Warriors personnel, media and fans. The newest Warrior was pleased to put on the red, black and white. "I was very excited when I got the call, I am happy to play in Moose jaw and to also play Midget there is great," said Hansen. "My parents were even more excited that I would be close to home," added the Craven native. Playing in the multiplex is also a strong drawing point for the young forward. "Being able to play in a brand new rink with new ice, equipment and everything else will be pretty amazing--- I will be 16 when it opens and hopefully in a Warriors uniform," said Hansen.
Hansen spent last season with the Lumsden/Bethune Lions. He also joined the Moose Jaw AAA Warriors (now the Moose Jaw Generals) for a couple games last season. "Carter is a skilled player who we believe will be an impact player for the future," said Director of Hockey Operations Jeff Truitt. "He combines great skills with solid skating and an incredible shot," added Truitt. "His size will, without a doubt, help him in taking the next step to the junior level," commented Truitt.
"We've seen him play in a number of situations and really like his competitiveness and ability to score important goals for his team; we are very proud to have Carter become a part of the Warriors organization," added Truitt.
