THANKSGIVING BRINGS TRI CITY TO TOWN

The score may not show it, but the Moose Jaw Warriors gave their opponents a good game for the first 40 minutes at Monday's matinee game. The Tri City Americans were in town for Thanksgiving and the Warrior's American guests were thankful for four power play opportunities that lead to 3 power play goals. Tri scored the first of the game from scoring leader, Adam Hughesman. Nathan MacMaster continued on his scoring streak and tied things up to end the first period. Young Connor Rankin scored on the American's power play to give the visitor's a one goal lead, followed up with a goal from twenty year old Mike Brown. Import Michal Hlinka managed to bring the Warriors within one to end forty minutes of play.

Quinton Howden tied the game at 3 a piece early in the third, yet 94' born Rankin hammered another one home on his second power play goal of the night. Eighteen year old Patrick Holland scored the go ahead goal on another warrior's penalty. Jordan Messier did not let up, scoring one final marker in the third to put the Americans up 6‐3. Warriors goaltender Thomas Heemskerk faced 37 shots, turning away 31 of them. The Warriors fired 36 shots at Drew Owsley who had some spectacular saves on the night. The Warriors return to action Wednesday when they face the Kootenay Ice and look to break their three game losing skid at home.

REBELS SILENCE WARRIORS OFFENCE

The Warriors put up a valiant effort Saturday at the Civic Center, keeping the game extremely close until the final minutes. A scoreless first led to just one Red Deer goal in the second. The Warriors allowed two more in the final minutes to make the score 3‐0. One of the highlight of the game for the Warriors was Matt Grant's first WHL fight against Lucas Grayson. The Warriors shot 25 pucks Darcy Kuemper's way but none would get by. Thomas Heemskerk went 26/28 on the night. The Warriors were 0/4 on the power play at 3/3 on the PK.

WARRIORS RAISE $4000.00 FOR THE CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY The Warriors first "Fight Night" took place on September 29th when the Moose Jaw Warriors took on the Brandon Wheat Kings. The Moose Jaw Warriors arrived to the game wearing personalized blue ties in tribute of Men's Cancer month.

Those very ties along with an autographed signed photo of each player sporting their tie were auctioned off over the past week. Dedication ties were also sold for $1.00 with all funds raised directly benefiting the Canadian Cancer Society. Fans were encouraged to join the fight and tie on their own blue tie or scarf for the game.

A blue tie is a symbol of Prostate Cancer, a cancer an estimated 24,600 men will be diagnosed with this year. A man has a greater than 1 in 7 chance of developing prostate cancer in his lifetime according to 2009 statistics. But with the gracious support of the community, the Warriors raised over $4000.00 for the Canadian Cancer Society‐‐funds the directly benefit cancer research and early detection education.

A big thank you goes to our generous supporters and fans. The Warriors Alumni Association kicked off the fundraiser with a cheque for $2,500.00. Thank you to NuClick web design for creating the photo design and Andy's Transmission & KCS Marketing for their donation of the blue ties. Another big thanks goes to Wells Camera & Sound for printing the photos. The local Prostate Cancer Awareness group, headed by Dennis Auger were a major part of the success of this fundraiser along with Gaye Stewart of the local Canadian Cancer Society.
