SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors defeated the Bakersfield Jam 110-105 Saturday night, improving to 16-11 on the season and moving into a tie for first place in the West Division with the Reno Bighorns.

Santa Cruz was led by Kent Bazemore, currently on assignment from the Golden State Warriors, who scored a game-high 25 points. Seth Curry scored 22 points and dished out five assists, while Dominic McGuire logged a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Ognjen Kuzmic, also on assignment from Golden State, grabbed a team-high 14 boards.

Bakersfield was paced by Ike Diogu and JamesOn Curry, who each scored 20 points. Damion James and Billy Baptist each had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Mac Koshwal scored 12 points and grabbed a game-high 16 boards.

There were four lead changes in the first half, but the Warriors went ahead on a Daniel Nwaelele jump shot with 10:20 left in the second quarter to make it 23-22 and never looked back. Santa Cruz held as much as a 13-point lead midway through the second and remained in control through the final frame. Bakersfield battled back and came within one point with 1:37 remaining in the fourth, but the Warriors went on a 6-0 run in the next minute of play to seal the victory.

The Jam outshot the Warriors (44.6%-40.9%) and held the edge on rebounds (58-45), points in the paint (50-26) and second chance points (21-8). Santa Cruz had more steals (10-5) and committed fewer turnovers (14-22), while each team had 21 assists.
