Warriors Aim to Rebound in Lethbridge Wednesday

Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
Lethbridge, AB - For the first time in 2024, the Moose Jaw Warriors are looking to get back on track after losing back-to-back games.
The Warriors will head into Lethbridge hungry to take on the Hurricanes on Wednesday night.
"It's big for our group to go through times like this because we really haven't yet, we got a little complacent and these past two losses are going to help us more than anything," Warriors forward Rilen Kovacevic said.
Moose Jaw opened its eight-game road trip with a 5-2 loss in Swift Current on Monday. That came on the heels of a 5-3 loss to Calgary at home on Saturday.
Kovacevic said the Warriors are fighting through adversity, needing to right the ship while on the road for two weeks.
"You've just got to keep playing, we have all the talent in the world, but if you lose your heads and forget what you're here to do, it's not going to work out," he said.
Wednesday night is the fourth meeting of the season between the Warriors and Hurricanes. Moose Jaw has went 2-1 against Lethbridge with the home team winning all three previous matchups.
The Warriors know they will need to work to come out with a victory against a gritty Hurricanes team.
"Every game in this league is going to come down to work ethic," Kovacevic said. "We can out-skill any team, but if you don't want to move your legs and do the hard things, we're not going to win."
The Warriors sit third in the Eastern Conference, two points back of Medicine Hat with two games in hand, and also four points in front of Swift Current and Red Deer with games in hand of both of them as well.
Lethbridge enters Wednesday's game tied with Calgary for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with a 24-25-5-0 record.
Kovacevic has had success against the Hurricanes this season with three goals and five points in five games between the Warriors and Oil Kings.
He said his line with Brayden Schuurman and Martin Rysavy will need to set the tone for the Warriors.
"When we get to play against big, hard-working teams like this, it fits our game and it's a lot easier to work down to what the competition does and that's what us three do the best," he said.
The Warriors and Hurricanes meet on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Saskatchewan time at the ENMAX Centre.
