Moose Jaw Warriors News Release

Moose Jaw, SK: The Moose Jaw Warriors announced today the acquisition of Defenseman Keaton Ellerby from the Kamloops Blazers in exchange for Warriors right winger Brady Calla. The native of Strathmore, AB was the 1st Round (10th overall) draft pick of the Florida Panthers in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. His tough physical play certainly was noticed by Hockey Canada as he earned himself a World Junior summer evaluation camp this past off-season. Ellerby will also join new teammate Riley Holzapfel to showcase his talent at the ADT Canada Russia Challenge later this month as a member of Team WHL.

"Keaton Ellerby is a playmaking offensive defenseman that also finishes his checks well," stated Warriors General Manager Chad Lang. "He stands 6'4 and weighs 190 pounds and is a good skater with great mobility. He handles the puck well and uses his long reach effectively."

Ellerby will join the Tribe in Calgary as they get set to take on the Calgary Hitmen Friday Night at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
