GREENSBORO, NC - Nick Ward homered and the BlueClaws rolled to a 9-5 win in Greensboro on Saturday night.

The BlueClaws (13-15) snapped a four-game losing streak with the win after the Grasshoppers (20-12) had won nine of the first 10 meetings between the two teams this year, and all four in this series.

Rixon Wingrove opened the scoring with a two-run single in the first inning off starter Bubba Chandler to give the BlueClaws a 2-0 lead. Greensboro's Jase Bowen then tied the game in the bottom of the first with a two-run homer, his seventh of the season.

Jersey Shore, however, blew the game open in the third inning. Casey Martin singled in the go-ahead run before Ward's three-run home run, his fourth of the year, gave the BlueClaws a 6-2 lead.

Hao Yu Lee cleared the bases with a three run double in the fifth to put Jersey Shore up 9-2.

Starter Jordan Fowler earned the win, allowing two runs on six hits in five innings. He struck out five and did not walk a batter.

Lee, Wingrove, Anthony Quirion, and Jared Carr all had two hits for Jersey Shore in the win. Marcus Lee Sang drew three walks and Casey Martin drew two. Lee Sang and Lee each stole their seventh bases of the season.

Carlos Francisco and Chase Antle each threw scoreless innings in relief for the BlueClaws.

The teams finish their series on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm. The BlueClaws open a six game series in Lakewood against Wilmington on Tuesday night at ShoreTown Ballpark.
