Walleye Add Game Plan Holder to the Roster
March 14, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Toledo Walleye News Release
(Toledo, OH) - The Toledo Walleye announced today that the team will sign game plan holder Bill Burden to a one-day contract on Saturday, March 24.
Burden was randomly selected among all FINatics who renewed their game plans by February 10. The 53-year-old Toledo police officer has been a Walleye game plan holder since the inaugural season in 2009 and a Toledo hockey ticket holder since 1991.
When asked about the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Burden said, " As a T-Town hockey fan for the last 30 years, I'm excited to continue my service to my city and now my hometown team, the Walleye."
Head Coach Nick Vitucci said, "We are excited to add Burden to the squad for the big game that night against the Elmira Jackals. We consider the Walleye fans to be our seventh player already so why not add one of them to the team for a game. We are thrilled to have him join us as our honorary player for a day."
