Walks Burn Travs in 7-2 Sunday Loss

Springdale, AR - The Arkansas Travelers issued seven walks in a 7-2 loss to the Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Sunday night at Arvest Ballpark.
Six of the seven runs that scored for the Naturals reached base via a walk.
LHP Sean Newcomb struggled for the first time in six Double-A starts. The 22-year-old worked three innings and allowed six runs, five earned, on four hits with five walks and four strikeouts.
Northwest Arkansas scored five runs in the first inning, boosted by a LF Lane Adams three-run home to well beyond the left field fence.
Arkansas cut the 5-0 deficit to 5-2 after a RF Blake Gailen home run in the second, but the Naturals countered with runs in the bottom of the second and fourth to take the 7-2 lead.
RHP Austin Wood, RHP Geoff Broussard and RHP Danny Reynolds combined to toss five innings of relief and allowed just a run on two hits with five strikeouts.
Travs CF Chad Hinshaw finished 2-for-2 with two walks and stolen base. Hinshaw has 17 stolen bases since July 28, six more than anyone in the Texas League.
C Anthony Bemboom went 2-for-3 for the Travs.
Naturals 1B Alex Liddi finished 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
RHP Jonathan Dziedzic (W, 10-6) has been on fire in the second half, and aside from the Gailen home run, held the Travs in check. Dziedzic worked five innings and allowed the two runs on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
Arkansas went 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position.
The Travs and Naturals will play the series-finale and final regular season meeting between the two teams on Monday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
