MIDLAND, TEXAS (August 30, 2015) - Chris Jensen was strong over seven innings and led the Midland RockHounds to a 5-2 win over the Frisco RoughRiders on Sunday afternoon at Security Bank Ballpark. Trever Adams and Lewis Brinson provided solo-home runs for the Riders.

Jensen (9-9) allowed only one run on five hits over seven frames in his start for Midland. The right-hander struck out five Riders in the winning performance.

Midland took an early advantage in the second. Renato Nunez and Matt Olson led off the frame with base hits and Jaycob Brugman followed with an RBI-single. Later in the frame, Beau Taylor and Wade Kirkland picked up RBI-base knocks to give the RockHounds a 3-0 lead.

In the fourth frame Midland added another run. Nunez worked a leadoff walk and scored his second run of the contest on a fielder's choice to put the Hounds up 4-0.

Frisco right-hander Phil Irwin (0-2) struggled in his third start with the Riders. He allowed four runs over three innings on six hits and two walks. Edwar Cabrera settled down the Midland offense in relief of Irwin. Cabrera allowed only one run on two hits over 3 2/3 innings.

The Riders found the scoreboard in the seventh thanks to Adams' two-out long ball. Midland answered in the bottom half of the inning when Josh Whitaker was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score Nunez for the third time and make it a 5-1 contest.

Frisco plated two runs in the eighth. Brinson cranked his seventh homer since joining the Riders. Later, Alex Burg doubled and scored on a RBI-single from Preston Beck to make it 5-3 Midland.

Brendan McCurry worked a scoreless ninth inning, working around a leadoff single from Luis Mendez to pick up his fifth save and finish off the 5-3 victory for the Hounds.

RHP Connor Sadzeck takes the mound for the RoughRiders in Monday night's series finale against the RockHounds at 6:30. Frisco returns to Dr Pepper Ballpark on Saturday, September 5 for the final home stand of the season. The first 2,000 fans at Saturday's game will receive a free RoughRiders football!
