Lansing Lugnuts News Release
The Lansing Lugnuts announced the following roster change, in conjunction with the Oakland Athletics:
- Pitcher Jake Walkinshaw received from Double-A Midland
The 25-year-old Walkinshaw was slated to be a member of the Lugnuts' starting rotation at the start of the season, but was placed on the Injured List on Opening Day. After a two-start, 4 2/3-IP rehab stint with the Arizona Complex League Athletics, he was moved up to Midland on June 24, but did not appear in a game for the RockHounds. A native of Seymour, Conn., noted for his wicked slider, the right-hander was originally selected by the Athletics in the 36th round in 2019 from Southern New Hampshire.
Walkinshaw is scheduled to start tonight's series opener at 7 p.m. Eastern for the Lugnuts (0-3, 25-44) at the Lake County Captains (1-2, 36-33).
