GRAND CHUTE, WI - Tuesday's series-opening game between the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and Cedar Rapids Kernels at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium was stopped by rain after 2-1/2 innings of play with Cedar Rapids leading 5-0. The game has been officially suspended and will be picked with the Rattlers coming to the plate in the bottom of the third inning on Wednesday afternoon at 12:10pm.
The Kernels took a 2-0 lead two batters into the game. Alerick Soularie singled to start the game. Christian Encarnacion-Strand hit the next pitch over the wall in left for his seventeenth home run of the season.
Cedar Rapids added to their lead with a two-out rally in the top of the third on three straight RBI doubles from Kyler Fedko, Yunior Severino, and Pat Winkel.
The tarp went on the field before the Timber Rattlers could hit in the bottom of the third.
