Mitch Walding drove in six runs as Williamsport used a five-run rally with two outs in the fifth to beat Auburn 13-8.

Walding finished 4-for-5 with the first Cutters home run of the year, a double and six RBI.

Chris Serritella added three hits and two doubles. He finished 3-for-4. Yan Carlos Olmo went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and an RBI.

Trailing 1-0 in the second inning, Walding smashed a 2-0 pitch over the fence in left field for a two-run shot, his first professional homer.

After falling back behind 4-2, Williamsport took the lead again in the fourth. A ground ball from Walding was misplayed on the Auburn infield and two runs scored. Tyler Greene then hit a sac fly to right, scoring Olmo for the go-ahead run.

Doubledays tied it back up in the top half of the fifth, before a two-out rally in the bottom half of the inning. Olmo laced a double down the third base line to score Brock Stassi. Walding then sent a grounder up the middle to plate two more. After Greene singled home Walding for his second RBI, Roman Quinn picked up his first career RBI and capped the inning at five runs and a 10-5 lead.

Walding picked up his final RBI in the sixth, doubling home Serritella to up the Cutters lead to 11-5.

After three Doubleday runs in the seventh, Brian Pointer hit safely in his fourth consecutive game and drove home Quinn for Williamsport's twelfth run.

Chase Numata drove in the final Cutter run in the eighth on a fielder's choice that allowed Olmo to score his third run. That capped the score at 13-8.

The Crosscutters belted 18 hits, which topped their Wednesday total of 17 and is the most hits by any team in the New York-Penn League this season.

Nick Hanson came on in relief of starter Delvin Perez and picked up the win. Perez allowed three runs in three innings, while Hanson struck out six and allowed two runs in three innings of relief work.

The Cutters win moves them to 3-2 and into a four-way tie for first in the Pinckney Division.

Williamsport plays game two against Auburn on Saturday in a 7:05pm matchup at Bowman Field. Every Cutters game can be heard on ESPN Radio 104.1 FM, ESPN 1050 AM, or online at crosscutters.com
