PENSACOLA, Fla. - Pensacola swept Wednesday's doubleheader against the Biloxi Shuckers at Blue Wahoos Stadium. The Blue Wahoos won the first game, 3-2, in dramatic fashion on a walk-off home run from Aristides Aquino and posted a 7-0 shutout win in game two.

In game one, the Wahoos struck first in the third inning on a TJ Friedl RBI triple that scored Jose Siri to make it 1-0. The game was knotted up in the sixth when Richie Shaffer hit his second home run of the season. The Wahoos trailed 2-1 in the bottom of the ninth after Biloxi took the lead on a wild pitch. Thomas Jankins (L, 9-7), who pitched the conclusion of Tuesday's suspended game for the Shuckers, sat down 17 consecutive Wahoos heading into the ninth inning. Friedl led the ninth off with a single and advanced to third on an errant pickoff attempt at first base. A sacrifice fly from the red-hot Taylor Featherston tied the game at 2-2. Aristides Aquino stepped into the box and ended the game by blasting a home run into the bay to give the Wahoos the 3-2 walk-off win.

Robinson Leyer started for the Wahoos in the continuation of Tuesday night's suspended game. Leyer pitched a scoreless 1.2 innings for the Wahoos and was relieved by Wyatt Strahan. Strahan had a brilliant outing for Pensacola against the potent Shuckers offense. Strahan allowed baserunners in each of his first three innings, but the only blemish of his start was a solo home run from Richie Shaffer in the sixth. Despite allowing the Shuckers go-ahead run in the ninth inning, Rafael De Paula got the win for Pensacola.

In game two, Pensacola's offense rattled off eleven hits and seven runs to back up a dominating pitching performance from the bullpen to extend its win streak to three.

The Wahoos came out swinging scored in three of the first five innings. Shed Long led off the second inning with a double followed by a Mitch Nay RBI double putting the Wahoos up 1-0. Cassidy Brown came up with a clutch two-RBI single in the fourth extending the lead to 3-0. The Wahoos would collect three hits and three runs before the Shuckers recorded an out in the fifth. Aquino, Long, Narciso Crook and Jose Siri all delivered RBI in Pensacola's four-run fifth inning. The Blue Wahoos used four hits and a pair of walks to fuel the rally, which put the game out of reach.

Carlos Navas got his first start of the season for the Wahoos. Navas hurled three shutouts innings posting 1-2-3 innings in his first two while punching out two. In his final inning, he allowed one hit but exited the game with his third and fourth strikeouts. Nick Howard (W 1-0) got the win with two scoreless innings on two hits and one strikeout in back of Navas. Zach Weiss and Alex Powers shut the door against the Shuckers and posted a combined four strikeouts, one hit and one walk to close out the ballgame with an inning each.

The Wahoos will host the Montgomery Biscuits in a five-game home stint beginning Thursday night. Southpaw Seth Varner (5-2, 2.83) start for Pensacola, and LHP Brock Burke (2-0, 1.13) will take the hill for Montgomery. Thursday's game can be found on the radio at 97.1 The Ticket/1490 AM Milton, CST, and www.bluewahoos.com. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
