
Wade Davis Lead Devil Rays past Kernels

Southwest Michigan Devil Rays News Release
The Southwest Michigan Devil Rays were hitting on all cylinders tonight. Good defense and even better pitching led the D-Rays past the Cedar Rapids Kernels by a score of 4-2. Southwest Michigan and Cedar Rapids split the series 2-2.
Wade Davis pitched another beautiful outing. Davis picked up the win by pitching five innings, walking five batters, and striking out seven. Davis hasn't given up a run since his first outing of the year. His ERA is now an impressive 0.44.
Kevin Lynn came in to relieve Davis and pitched two no-hit innings while striking out two batters. Lynn lowered his season ERA to 0.66. Greg Dupas picked up his first save of the year. Dupas pitched the ninth inning and allowed one hit and one run while striking out two Kernels batters.
On his 23rd birthday, Garrett Groce had a stellar day at the plate. Groce went 2-for-3 with an RBI, a walk, and a run scored. Garrett also had two stolen bases.
The Devil Rays continue their eight game homestand Tuesday when the Burlington Bees come to town. Tuesday night is Red Hot Chicago Dime Dog Night. Hot dogs in Wonderbread buns are only 10-cents. WIN 98.5 will be in house as the Devil Rays radio sponsor.
