Waco Wranglers News Release
WACO, Texas-The Waco Wranglers will hold a press conference to sign Chris Johnson Saturday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. at the Murray Watson Jr. Student Recreation Center at Texas State Technical College Waco. Johnson will be the seventh player signed by the Wranglers. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard played for University High school in Waco where he was named Offense Player of the Year.
Johnson played for McLennan Community College before transferring to Tarleton State. Johnson was named Defense Player of the year for the 2005 season at Tarleton State.
"I think we're coming along really fast," Johnson said. "Everyone is still getting used to each other's playing though, but I think we're going to come along just fine."
"C.J. is a very versatile player who is effective equally on offense and defense," Coach Toni said. "He will be an asset to us!"
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
