September 6, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Strong Island Sound News Release

Patchogue, NY, September 6, 2006 - The Strong Island Sound, the sole Long Island member of the American Basketball Association (ABA), will hold additional tryouts for its 2006-2007 dance team, the Sound Dancers, on Friday, September 15th at 7pm. Talented dancers are invited to participate at the auditions to be held at Dance Eleck-Tra in Center Moriches, NY.

Applications for Sound Dance candidates can be found on the Strong Island Sound Web site. Sharon Kraemer, director of the Sound Dancers, will assemble a team of great dancers who will have a strong commitment to the community and embody the pride associated with the Sound organization.

"Our first round of tryouts went really well, but we want to ensure that we give all interested dancers an opportunity to audition for the squad," stated Michele Wuestman, co-owner of the Strong Island Sound. "The Sound Dancers are an integral part of our entertainment package. The dance team will be responsible for energizing the crowd during home games at Suffolk Community College's Selden campus, so that even when there's a break in the basketball game, the fans in the stands will have something to cheer about."

Founded in 2004 by co-owners Darren Cioffi and Michele Wuestman, the Strong Island Sound bring high energy and intensity, as well as entertaining basketball to the arena every game night.
