Montpelier, Vt. - Vermont Mountaineers starter Ryan Davis (Le Moyne) earned New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) Pitcher of the Week honors for his performance in Friday night's season-opening 5-0 win over the Laconia Muskrats.
Davis pitched six innings and allowed no runs on three hits. The southpaw walked one and struck out eight to get the win and improve to 1-0 on the summer.
The Mountaineers (1-1) are in action Monday night at 6:30 when they travel to Sanford to take on the Mainers in NECBL play. The game can be heard locally on CBS Sports 1240 WSKI and online at thevermontmountaineers.com.
