The Owlz fell to the Great Falls Voyagers, 8-4, in game two of a three game series Wednesday night.
Orem got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning with back-to-back two-out doubles. The first came as Fran Whitten hit to centerfield to score Raul Linares and then Whitten scored as Tyler Palmer lined down the left field line.
The Voyagers scored three runs in the second inning to take the lead, then in the fourth inning added two more runs to take a 5-2 lead.
Back-to-back solo homeruns in the fifth inning pushed the lead to five.
The offense for the Owlz struggled as they stranded six men on base through the seventh inning.
The Owlz started to chip away at the lead in the seventh inning. Michael Strentz singled on a ground ball to second base and a throwing error advanced him to second. A single to centerfield by Whitten scored Michael Strentz. Later with two outs a double by Hermosillo down the left field line scored Whitten from first.
Orem entered the ninth inning within striking distance but was unable to continue their rally as they stranded two men on base and ended the inning on a fly out to right field.
Whitten went 3-for-5 with a walk, a double, and two RBI and Palmer was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
The Owlz will play the final game of their series with Great Falls at home on Thursday at 7:05.
