GF DUMPS OWLZ

The Voyagers made it two straight over Orem Wednesday, claiming an 8-4 win at Brett Brown Ballpark. Orem grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the first, but it did not last as Great Falls put together a three-run second on three consecutive run-producing hits. The Voyagers added two each in the fourth and fifth innings, including back-to-back homers by Dillon Haupt and Zach Fish in the fifth. Great Falls got one more in the seventh when Ethan Gross picked up his second RBI of the game.

BACK-TO-BACK BLASTS

To lead off the fifth last night, Great Falls got back-to-back solo home runs from Dillon Haupt and Zach Fish. It marked the third time this season that the Voyagers have hit back-to-back homers, and all three times Haupt has been involved. He and Patrick Palmeiro went back-to-back twice on July 28 at Missoula, the only time this year Great Falls has had anyone turn in a multi-homer game.

HIT PARADE

The Voyager offense posted 16 hits in the win over Orem last night, two shy of its season-high. When Ethan Gross collected an RBI single in the seventh, he became the ninth and final Great Falls hitter to claim at least one hit on the night. Of those nine, six turned in multi-hit efforts, including center fielder Louie Lechich who tied his career-high with three knocks. Chipping in with two hits apiece were Zach Fish, Zach Fisher, Dillon Haupt, Ryan Jones, and Tyler Shryock.

COOPER KEEPS ROLLIN'

Great Falls had to go to the bullpen early last night, as starter Brian Clark left after he was struck by a line drive in the third. Matt Cooper came in and responded by tossing a career-high two and two-thirds scoreless frames and whiffing a career-high five on his way to earning his third win of the year. The righty has now gone seven straight outings without giving up a run (11.1 IP).
