August 3, 2015 - New York-Penn League (NYPL)
Norwich Sea Unicorns News Release
NORWICH, CT- The Connecticut Tigers in partnership with The Norwich Bulletin announce the Third Annual Travis Brennan "Heart & Hustle" Award. The award is given annually to one Connecticut Tigers player and one local child who best exemplify the characteristics of Heart and Hustle both on the field and in the community.
The award is in the name of former Tigers Clubhouse Manager Travis Brennan, who passed away in May of 2013 after a valiant battle with three separate waves of an inoperable brain tumor. The award was created to keep the memory of Travis and his Heart and Hustle in everything he did alive at Dodd Stadium.
Fans are invited to vote for the Tiger they feel best shows these characteristics by going to www.norwichbulletin.com/cttiger. Fans can also submit their nomination for the community award by visiting the website or dropping off a nomination at Dodd Stadium.
Previous winners of the award were Infielder Dominic Ficociello (2013) who is currently playing for the Tigers Class AA affiliate the Erie SeaWolves and Infielder Will Maddox (2014) who is currently with the Class A affiliate the West Michigan Whitecaps.
The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play a 76 game schedule that runs from mid June through early September. 2015 season tickets, group tickets, mini plans, individual game tickets, and team merchandise are now on sale! The front office and ticket office is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and can be accessed in person or by calling 860-887-7962.
