Salem-Keizer Volcanoes News Release
The Volcanoes return home tomorrow for a series against the Everett AquaSox, affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
On Thursday the 21st, it's Seattle Mariners Night! Former Mariners pitcher Bob Wolcott will be on hand to sign autographs. Wolcott was on the 1995 Mariners team that shocked baseball with their incredible comeback to take the division championship. Also, the Mariner Moose will be making an appearance at Volcanoes Stadium! Kids, this is your opportunity to get your picture taken with the Moose you've seen on TV so many times.
Friday, July 22nd, the incredible Gentlemen Jugglers will be here, throwing things at each other throughout the night, including Flaming Torches !!!
Saturday, July 23rd will be featuring several attractions, including Cup of Coffee Night, Scout Night and Silverton Community Night. Cup of Coffee Night, sponsored by Corvallis Beverage, will feature several former big league baseball players that stayed in the big leagues just long enough to have a "Cup of Coffee." This is our night to celebrate their accomplishments and hear their stories, as well as get a few autographs! You'll have to search far and wide to find cards of Frank Snook, Rick Bladt, Ford "Moon" Mullin and Roger Hambright, but bring them in and get them signed that night. Pre-Registered Boy and Girl Scouts that bring their gear are invited to stay the night on the field following the game. It's Salem Hospital's Silverton Community Night as well. Come get Volcanoes/Salem Hospital's Collectors Cup #3 (of 4) at the Salem Hospital Table during the game.
When Vancouver comes to town on Sunday, July 24th, it'll be the free Kids Baseball Clinic from 3:30-4:30pm, with the Volcanoes players and coaches. Any child with a ticket to the game can take part in the clinic for free. Monday, July 25th is the next Bi-Mart 50-cent Monday, in celebration of their 50th anniversary. Any member showing their Bi-Mart card at the stadium will receive hot dogs for only 50-cents. It will also be the inaugural game of "Baseball Bingo" at Volcanoes Stadium, so come early to pick up your Bingo Card.
Tuesday, July 26th is Country Western Night! Presented by Capitol Auto Group, this year's Country Western Celebration features Salem's Rising Star, Adam Marshall, singing the National Anthem. Adam, a former Marine, was the top winner in Country Music's "Young Guns" competition. We'll be looking for the best dressed cowboy and cowgirl, and you can enter to win some great prizes, including Sara Evans's Autographed sheet music for her hit song, Perfect, and tickets to the Oregon Jamboree in Sweet Home featuring Merle Haggard, Travis Tritt, Neal McCoy and Lonestar. We'll have Great American Country T-Shirts and Hats to Give Away, compliments of Comcast. And you might end up with a 10-gallon hat, filled with 10-gallons of Gasoline!
