
First Round Pick Travis Buck Joins the C's on the road in Tri City

VANCOUVER, B.C. - The Vancouver Canadians are proud to announce the assignment of the Oakland Athletics supplemental first round pick, Travis Buck from Arizona State University. Buck joined the Canadians yesterday on their road trip to Tri-City following a few days in Oakland taking BP.
Buck played three seasons at Arizona State and was an important part of the team's run in the 2005 College World Series. Buck has played multiple positions at Arizona State including third base and outfield. In three seasons, Buck's batting average has gone up every year, from .326 in 2003 to .373 in 2004 to a fantastic .382 in 2005. Buck had 147 RBI's in three years and 272 hits over the same time frame. Buck also had 53 doubles during his time at ASU.
Buck was born on Richland, Washington and is the nephew of former Seattle Mariner Arv Morfin. Buck was a Maroon and Gold scholar at Arizona State and was a member of the National Honour Society in high school.
