
Everett errors lead to big loss

EVERETT, WASH. - Spokane snapped their nine game losing streak by taking advantage of Everett's four errors leading to three unearned runs, as the Indians defeated the Frogs 10-2. Everett's bats cooled off after scoring 29 runs in the first three games. The Tribe nailed the coffin shut with a five-run ninth inning.
Spokane first baseman Steve Murphy went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Indian second baseman Julio Santana was 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI. Frog third baseman Reed Eastley went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Everett starting pitcher Nick Allen went six innings giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits, walked two, and struck out four. Spokane starter Jesse Hall was removed in the bottom of the first for precautionary reasons after being struck in the side of the head by a Luis Valbuena line drive. Indian reliever David Smith went 4 2/3 giving up zero runs on four hits, walked one, and struck out four in emergency relief. Hall was taken to Providence Medical Center following the game for further evaluation.
The final game of the series will be Wednesday July 20th, with an appearance by the Mariner Moose. The first pitch is at 7:05 p.m., with gates opening at 6pm.
