Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa-Waterloo Black Hawks' radio and FASTHockey internet broadcasts will feature a familiar voice for two games this weekend.
A.J. Ligman will deliver play-by-play as the Hawks take the ice Friday and Saturday. His last Waterloo broadcast was Game Four of the 2004 Clark Cup series as the Hawks topped the Tri-City Storm 2-1 to claim the USHL's playoff championship. For three seasons from 2001-2002 to 2003-2004, Ligman enthusiastically called Black Hawks games, punctuated by his recognizable exclamation after each goal, "How About That!"
"A.J. has a special place in the hearts of Black Hawks fans. Listening to him this weekend will bring back a lot of great memories," said Black Hawks President Doug Miller.
The Hawks travel to meet the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders on Friday. Bring your radio to the rink Saturday when the Sioux City Musketeers visit Party Town. Every Waterloo game - home and away - can be heard on KCNZ-AM, 1650, "The Fan." An internet videostream via FASTHockey can also be purchased; visit waterlooblackhawks.com for more details. Ligman will be filling in for Tim Harwood, who will be out of town for a family commitment.
Tickets are on sale now for the Hawks' matchup against Sioux City via waterlooblackhawks.com. The Black Hawks box office will open for phone and in-person orders Wednesday morning at 11:30AM.
