
Stampede Weekly Update: Herd Home for Two Games this Weekend

Sioux Falls Stampede News Release
The Sioux Falls Stampede (11-15-1) return home for back-to-back games this Friday and Saturday when they host Omaha and Dubuque at the Sioux Falls Arena.
The Herd are fresh off a 4-3 shootout win in Des Moines and enter the week just two points out of fifth place in the Western Conference.
The Lancers are tied for first place in the West with an 18-10-2 record and have won three straight games.
The Dubuque Fighting Saints are 18-9-2 and in third place in the Eastern Conference. The Saints went 1-1-0 last weekend, topping Cedar Rapids 5-3 before falling 4-2 to Waterloo.

Stampede viewing party next Monday
Just because the Stampede are on the road doesn't mean you have to miss any of the action! The first Stampede viewing party of the season will take place next Monday, January 16th versus Fargo. Fans can catch the game on all the TV big screens at both Sioux Falls locations (behind Pheasants stadium & the new South Louise Avenue location) starting at 7 PM.
Below are the dates of the games that will be shown at Buffalo Wild Wings:
* Monday, January 16th at Fargo 7 PM
* Friday, January 27th vs Sioux City 7 PM
* Friday, February 10th at Des Moines 7 PM
* Friday, March 2nd at Sioux City 7 PM
Redmond named AHL All-Star
Former Stampede star defenseman Zach Redmond has been named to the American Hockey League (AHL) All-Star Game as a member of the Eastern Conference. The game will take place on January 30th in Atlantic City, N.J.
Redmond is having an outstanding season with the St. John's IceCaps, the top affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets. He has 15 points (4g, 11a) and is a +9 in 34 games with the IceCaps who are in first place in the Atlantic Division.
Redmond was a part of the Stampede's Anderson Cup and Clark Cup championship teams. He posted 39 points (8g, 31a) in 60 games for the Herd in 2006-07 before playing four years at Ferris State.
The Traverse City, MI native was a 7th round draft pick of the then Atlanta Thrashers in 2008.

Holmstrom leads Phantoms to Outdoor Classic win
Former Stampede star Ben Holmstrom tallied the game tying goal with 20.2 seconds remaining for the Adirondack Phantoms as they rallied to defeat the Hershey Bears 3-2 in overtime at the AHL Outdoor Classic in Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Friday night.
The Phantoms are the top affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers while the Bears are the top affiliate of the Washington Capitals.
The game set an attendance record with 45, 653 fans. Holmstrom played from 2003 to 2006 with the Stampede and was captain of the Anderson Cup championship team. He is currently captain of the Phantoms.
