
Vipers snap losing streak

The Calgary Vipers snapped their 2 game losing streak Tuesday night with an 8-5 win over the Sioux Falls Canaries. It was the teams second win at "The Snake Pit", Foothills Stadium.
Calgary starter Ben Moore went 7 strong on the hook for 11 hits and 5 runs, all of them earned. He also struck out 11. Moore had not pitched more than 3 innings previous to this, working out of the bullpen. Sioux Falls starter and former Northern League pitcher of the year Rafael Gross went 5 and 2/3 innings, getting knocked around for 10 hits and 7 earned runs. Cody Cillo pitched the 8th and 9th innings in relief of Moore earning his 1st save of the season.
At the plate, Calgary 1st baseman Greg Morrison smacked his 4th homerun of the season off the ViperVision in right-center field. Viper newcomer JD Foust went 3 for 4 at the plate and finished a round trip short of the cycle. Sioux Falls 1st baseman continued his impressive visit to Calgary finishing 5 for 5 at the plate. He went 5 for 6 and hit for the cycle on Monday.
This series wraps up Wednesday night (7:05 pm, Foothills Stadium) before the Vipers embark on a 6 game road swing to Gary, Indiana and Kansas City, Kansas.
