
Vipers Sign Versatile AAA Veteran

The Calgary Vipers Professional Baseball Club have signed Andy Jenkins to a 2011 North American League contract. The Salem, Oregon resident is entering his seventh professional season and in 2010 he played in AA and AAA in the Texas Rangers organization where he hit ten home runs. During his career in affiliated ball the 27-year-old has primarily played at first and third base but has also seen time behind the plate and in the outfield. Originally Jenkins was drafted in the 11th round out of Oregon State University by the Florida Marlins and in five seasons advanced to the AAA level. 2011 marks the first year for the right-handed hitter in Independent baseball.
Calgary welcomes Kevin Costner's first place Lake County Fielders to Foothills Stadium on Toonie Tuesday June 14th at 6:30 for a four-game series where you can buy one ticket, get a second for just $2.00 and also $2.00 for hot dogs, pop, popcorn, cotton candy, and sno cones. Dan the one man band will also be providing pre-game entertainment. On Weiner Wednesday June 15th at 12:05 for $1.00 hotdogs along with $5.00 admission for students. On Thursday June 16th at 6:30 and Friday June 17th at 6:30 for Aboriginal Night with 50% off regular admission with Metis or CIS card.
