Colts Trade West to River City

San Angelo, Texas---The Colts traded outfielder Jareck West to the River City Rascals of the Frontier League Monday for future considerations. There were not any corresponding roster moves, as West was already on the inactive list.

In nine games with San Angelo in 2011, West hit .152 with three home runs and five RBI. He was placed on the inactive list June 7. West returns to the Frontier League, where he spent the last two seasons playing with the Gateway Grizzlies. In 2010 he hit .271 with 12 home runs and 39 runs batted in for the Grizzlies.

The 26-year-old was drafted in the 25th round of the 2007 draft by the Oakland Athletics and played two seasons in their system, where he reached Class A Vancouver of the Northwest League.
