Rio Grande Valley Vipers News Release

MCALLEN, TEXAS - The NBA Development League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that they have re-acquired power forward Mike Harris (6-6, 235, Rice), who recently completed a 10-day contract with the Washington Wizards following his second GATORADE Call-Up of the season.

In five games with the Wizards, Harris recorded four points, four rebounds and one steal in 11 minutes of action. Harris also saw action in two games with the Houston Rockets in December, recording five points and three rebounds in 11 minute. Harris previously played for the Rockets during 17 regular season and three playoff games in 2008.

A Western Conference All-Star, Harris was leading the league in scoring at 26.3 points and fourth in the league in rebounding at 9.8 per game. Harris scored a career-high 48 points (second highest total in franchise history, single-game high in the league this season) to go with a career-high 24 rebounds (tied for highest total in franchise history and second highest total in the league this season) on January 17 at Dakota. That was one of 13 double-doubles Harris has recorded this season. He broke the 30-point plateau on seven other occasions and it was one of two times he had more than 20 rebounds in a game. He led the Vipers in scoring 17 times and rebounding 12 times.

Harris is back in the Rio Grande Valley and is expected to be in uniform for Tuesday's 7:30 p.m. game against the Austin Toros at State Farm Arena.
