EDINBURG, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (3-11) faced the Iowa Wolves (6-6) on Tuesday night and came out victorious, 142-128 as RGV sets new season-high in total points scored.

The Vipers and Wolves entered the battle for domination on the court in an attempt to come out with a victory. In the first quarter of the game Iowa opened up the scoreboard 3-0, but the Vipers had other plans. The Vipers offense went on a 15-point run, while the defense kept Iowa at only three points to lead the quarter 15-3.

There was no way of stopping RGV. In no time the Vipers offense went on a 33-point run while the defense only allowed the Wolves to score 18 points. The quarter ended in favor of RGV 48-21. The 48 points ties the franchise record for most points scored in a quarter.

Iowa was ready to fight back in the second quarter. RGV went down 34-37 but kept the lead at the end of the quarter to 82-58 over the Wolves.

Houston Rockets two-way player Chris Clemons led the half with 19 points, three rebounds and three assists. Houston Rockets assignee Isaiah Hartenstein contributed 16 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Ray Spalding totaled 12 points with seven rebounds and one assist.

Kelan Martin of the Iowa Wolves led his team with 14 points, three rebounds and two assists. Also scoring in the double-digits was Jordan Murphy with 11 points and three rebounds.

RGV kept the momentum going in the third quarter, but the Wolves were not done fighting for the victory. Iowa wanted to take the lead, but the Vipers continued striking until the buzzer went off to indicate the end of the third quarter. RGV led Iowa 117-96.

The Vipers did not think twice about extending its lead even further. The Vipers wanted to win big and they did with a 142-128 score over the Wolves. RGV set a new season-high in total points scored with 142.

Hartenstein finished with a double-double scoring 24 points with 15 rebounds and contributed eight assists. Clemons racked up 24 points (six 3PM) and six rebounds. Jaron Blossomgame totaled 20 points, three rebounds and four assists. Spalding added a double-double also with 19 points (7-11 FG), 10 rebounds and two assists. Houston Rockets two-way player Michael Frazier totaled 18 points, seven rebounds and two assists.

Seven players of the Iowa Wolves hit the double-digits in points scored with Minnesota Timberwolves assignee Jaylen Nowell leading with 26 points, 11 rebounds and four assists while Martin tallied 24 points. Also scoring in the double-digits were Murphy (15), two-way player Jordan McLaughlin (15), Trevon Duval (13), Barry Brown (10) and Jaylen Johnson (10).
