
Vipers Acquire Guard Ronshad Shabazz

EDINBURG, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that they have acquired guard Ronshad Shabazz.
Shabazz (6-3, 215 lbs.) was originally drafted by College Park Skyhawks, G League Affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, as the 13th overall pick of the 2019 G League Draft appearing in two games for the squad this season. Prior to College Park, he played all four seasons at Appalachian State where he finished his college career with 2,067 points, ranking second all-time in school history. Shabazz currently owns the record for field goals made in a career (712) for the Mountaineers.
As a senior, Shabazz averaged 18.3 points and 2.3 assists in 32.2 minutes of action while shooting 44.1 percent from the field. He was named All-Sun Belt for three consecutive seasons. During his junior campaign, Shabazz led the team in scoring with 18.5 points and 3.0 assists per game.
