
Vipers Fall to Legends

HIDALGO, Texas -- The Rio Grande Valley Vipers fell 119-91 to the Texas Legends tonight at State Farm Arena. Tonight's game was presented by Vipers' title sponsor Lone Star National Bank. The team also celebrated NBA Fit's Dribble to Stop Diabetes program.
Andrew Goudelock led the Vipers with 20 points. Hassan Whiteside scored his first Vipers double-double with 11 points, 16 rebounds. Chris Johnson and Maalik Wayns added 10 points each.
Justin Dentmon led the Legends with 21 points. Christian Eyenga followed with 19 points, and Fred House added 18 points. Melvin Ely and Solomon Bozeman each added 15 points, and Sean Singletary posted 10 points.
Texas maintained control throughout the game. The Vipers trailed the Legends 22-20 at the end of the first quarter, but Texas broke away in the second quarter and held a 55-40 advantage at the half. The Vipers were not able to get within Texas during the second half. The Legends claimed the 119-91 win.
The Vipers are back in action at home tomorrow night when they host the Texas Legends in the second of back-to-back games at 7:30 p.m. Fans can listen to Vipers games live on Fox Sports 1700 and can watch games live on the NBA Development League Network on YouTube.
