
Santa Cruz Warriors Slip in Reno

RENO, Nev. - The Santa Cruz Warriors fell to the Reno Bighorns 113-99 Thursday night in the second game of a back-to-back.
The Santa Cruz Warriors were led by Travis Leslie, who logged a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Stefhon Hannah scored 19 and had three steals, while Moe Baker dished out a game-high seven assists.
The Reno Bighorns were led by Marcus Landry, who scored a game-high 32 points, including eight three-pointers. Dar Tucker notched a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds, and Samardo Samuels scored 18 points along with 10 boards.
The Santa Cruz Warriors' largest lead was four points midway through the first quarter, but the Bighorns had the lead by the end of the first frame and never looked back. The Warriors cut the deficit to as little as six near the end of the third quarter, but Reno pulled away in the fourth, leading by as much as 24 before putting the game away by a 14 point margin.
The Warriors held the slight edge on field goal shooting percentage (45.5%-43.3%) and points in the paint (50-48), but the Bighorns won the rebounding battle (52-45).
The Santa Cruz Warriors will return home to take on the Maine Red Claws on Saturday. The game, which will be broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network, tips off at 7:00 p.m. at the Kaiser Permanente Arena.
